Monika Webb has been writing since she was 10-years-old. It wasn't until she was 25
and living in Germany that she discovered that she had a voice. Through a series of
classes and workshops she honed her craft and found that her voice is just as loud
and important as anyone's. Since then she has led one day writing seminars on the writer's
life and created an 8 week workshop where she leads particpants through a series of
exercises to push through writer's block and to tap into their creativity.

Monika, a New York City based poet, is the author of 2 published volumes of poetry,
"Ms.'d Opportunities", published summer 2005 and "Struggling for Beauty", self-published
June 2009. She is also the creator of a series of 'zines called "Telling Stories" which
she printed and put out using guerilla methods (undoubtedly, not one of her finer moments,
but it got the job done and she had fun doing it). Recently, she has been trying her hand
at prose by working on a novel called "Grace in Wonder" but like Baudelaire says "...a poet,
even in prose". So she will still work on it.

Sensing a void in the industry, Monika's ultimate goal is to start a small press for women
and minorities. "The time is long overdue for quailty storytelling in our community." It is
a project she is very passionate about.

Through the years her writing has taken her many different places, inspired all kinds of
people along the way and been the one constant in her life. As long as there is ink in a pen,
a life to live and paper to write it on, she's happy.
